On Friday, April 7, 2023, Station 15 was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 07:36 on Lotz Ave. Chief 15 went direct. ER15 responded with 4; ER15 tagged the hydrant at the corner of Lotz Ave and Focht Street. The crew quickly advanced a hand line to the basement, knocking the fire down. A second hand line was taken to the first floor. The Lakemont crew promptly knocked down the fire. Crews from Hollidaysburg, Duncansville, Geeseytown, Greenwood, Newburg, and Roaring Spring assisted on the scene, checking for extensions, laddering the building, and setting up ventilation. United was on standby at Lakemont station. The crew from Lakemont did an excellent job with the quick knock down today.
