On April 19th Marvin got taken to UPMC Altoona by ambulance. When he got there, they put a breathing tube in. He was in cardiogenic shock and was taken to the Cath Lab. From there, they put on a heart pump and flew him to Pittsburgh for surgery. He was stabilized in the Cardiothoracic ICU for two months. They could not do bypass surgery as his heart was worse than they thought. As of right now, he is not on the transplant list yet, but he had an LVAD inserted, what they call an artificial heart. He is unable to return to his job. He has a long road to recovery, and the medical expenses are taking a toll.
